Job Summary
Working at Beautiful Portchester Castle in our gorgeous Vintage Coffee Van 'Claude', and/or our Riverside Cafe Bistro in Bursledon serving locally roasted coffee how its meant to be!
We are seeking a Barista to join our vibrant team. As a Barista, you will be responsible for serving great coffee and providing exceptional customer service in a fast-paced but relaxed environment. Your role will involve serving coffee, cake, pastries, & toasties, (no cooking), maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring that our customers have a delightful experience every time they visit.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialty drinks.
- Two or three weekday shifts plus one weekend day shift as part of a rota.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the workspace, including equipment and utensils.
- Assist in food preparation and ensure adherence to food safety standards.
- Provide excellent customer service by taking orders accurately and efficiently.
- Handle cash transactions and manage the till with basic maths skills.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during peak hours.
- Manage time effectively to meet customer demands while maintaining quality.
Experience
- Previous skilled Barista experience in a café or similar environment, training will also be provided.
- Knowledge of food safety practices is advantageous.
- Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
- A willingness to help others and work as part of a team is crucial.
- Basic maths skills for handling transactions and inventory management.
