Learn and Grow Childcare is looking to recruit a passionate, experienced and motivated Room Leader to join our growing team.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Early Years Practitioner who is ready to take the next step in their career, or for an existing Room Leader looking to join a supportive, forward-thinking nursery.
As a Room Leader, you will inspire your team to deliver exceptional care and learning, ensuring every child receives the very best start in life.
About the Role
As Room Leader, you will be responsible for leading the day-to-day running of your room, ensuring the highest standards of care, education and safeguarding are consistently maintained. You will lead by example, supporting and developing your team while creating a warm, nurturing and stimulating environment where children can thrive.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading and supporting a team of Early Years Practitioners, promoting high standards of practice.
- Creating a safe, nurturing, inclusive and inspiring learning environment.
- Planning, implementing and evaluating high-quality play-based learning experiences.
- Supporting children's learning, development and wellbeing through meaningful interactions.
- Monitoring children's progress and ensuring observations and learning records are completed to a high standard.
- Building positive relationships with children, families and professionals.
- Mentoring, coaching and supporting team members in their professional development.
- Ensuring policies, procedures and safeguarding responsibilities are followed at all times.
- Taking responsibility for the organisation and daily operation of your room.
- Working closely with the management team to continuously improve practice across the nursery.
About You
We're looking for someone who:
- Is passionate about providing outstanding early years education and care.
- Has previous experience leading or supporting a team within an early years setting.
- Is an inspiring role model who leads with positivity and professionalism.
- Has excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Is confident in mentoring and developing others.
- Has a thorough understanding of child development and play-based learning.
- Demonstrates initiative, resilience and excellent problem-solving skills.
- Builds strong, positive relationships with children, families and colleagues.
- Is committed to delivering exceptional outcomes for children.
Essential Requirements
- SVQ Level 3 in Social Services (Children and Young People), Early Learning & Childcare, or a recognised equivalent.
- Previous experience working within an early years setting.
- Previous leadership, senior practitioner or room leader experience is desirable.
