Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and energetic Deputy Manager/Preschool Room Leader to join our vibrant early childhood education team.
8.5 hours per day x 5 days a week, Mondays to Fridays. We consider a 4 day week as well.
In this pivotal role, you will lead and inspire a dedicated team of childcare professionals, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care and education for young children. Your leadership will foster a nurturing, safe, and engaging environment where children can thrive, learn, and develop essential skills. Responsibilities
- Lead daily operations within the preschool room, ensuring smooth and efficient delivery of activities and routines.
- Supervise and support a team of childcare practitioners, promoting teamwork, professional development, and high standards of care.
- Plan and implement engaging, age-appropriate educational activities that stimulate curiosity and learning.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment in compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding children's progress, needs, and any concerns.
- Support staff training initiatives, fostering continuous improvement in childcare practices.
- Ensure all regulatory requirements are met, including documentation, child safeguarding policies, and licensing standards.
Requirements
- Proven management experience within early childhood education or childcare settings.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team effectively.
- Experience working directly with children in nursery or preschool environments.
- Knowledge of child development principles and early childhood education best practices.
- Excellent communication skills in English to liaise confidently with colleagues and families.
- Ability to organize activities that promote learning through play while maintaining safety standards.
- Valid driving license is preferred for transportation duties or outreach activities; willingness to travel as needed.
