Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Machine Operative to join our clients manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining various machinery involved in fabrication and assembly processes. Responsibilities
- Operate a range of fabrication machinery, including milling machines, welding equipment, and other production tools.
- Set up and adjust machines using CAD drawings, SolidWorks models, and other technical documentation.
- Programme and troubleshoot programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to ensure optimal machine performance.
- Handle materials efficiently, including loading, unloading, and organising components within the warehouse or production area.
- Perform basic maintenance, inspections, and cleaning of machinery to ensure safety and operational efficiency.
- Assist with assembly tasks, ensuring parts are correctly fitted according to specifications.
- Use hand tools and tooling to modify or repair equipment as required.
- Apply basic maths skills for measurements, calculations, and quality checks during production processes.
- Follow health and safety guidelines diligently, maintaining a safe working environment at all times.
Experience
- Proven experience in manufacturing or workshop environments is preferred.
- Knowledge of fabrication techniques such as welding, milling, and assembly is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with CAD software and SolidWorks for technical drawings is advantageous.
- Experience with materials handling and warehouse operations will be considered a plus.
- Mechanical knowledge combined with hands-on experience using hand tools and tooling is essential.
- Previous exposure to programming PLCs or working with CNC machinery will be beneficial but is not mandatory. Pay: £15.00-£17.00 per hour
