Duties
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks under the supervision of chefs, including washing, peeling, chopping, and organizing ingredients
- Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen areas, including floors, work surfaces, utensils, and equipment to meet health and safety standards
- Support the storage of food supplies by organizing stock and rotating inventory appropriately
- Ensure all dishes, cookware, and utensils are properly cleaned and stored after use
- Help with waste disposal and recycling procedures to promote an eco-friendly kitchen environment
- Assist in setting up workstations for meal service and clearing after busy periods
- Follow health and safety guidelines diligently to prevent accidents or contamination in the kitchen
Skills
- Experience or familiarity with food preparation and cooking processes in a restaurant or hospitality setting
- Strong understanding of kitchen hygiene standards and safety protocols
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail
