Trade Recruit is working on behalf of our fast-growing client in Crawley to appoint a driven and commercially minded Business Development Manager. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious sales professional with experience in the glazing, construction, fenestration, or building products sector who is confident in generating leads, building strong client relationships, and securing new business opportunities.
This is a predominantly office-based role, with regular time allocated to client meetings, networking events, site visits, and business development activities to support the continued growth of the company.
Role Overview
The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and securing new business opportunities, developing long-term client relationships, and winning glazing projects and contracts across both commercial and residential sectors.
You will play a key role in driving revenue growth, expanding the company's client base, and strengthening its market presence.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, develop, and convert new business opportunities within the glazing and construction sectors
- Generate, qualify, and follow up on leads to secure new contracts and projects
- Build and maintain strong relationships with contractors, developers, architects, and end clients
- Prepare and present proposals, quotations, and tender submissions
- Attend client meetings, site visits, industry events, and networking opportunities
- Work closely with estimating, operations, and project delivery teams to ensure a smooth handover of secured projects
- Maintain accurate sales records, pipeline reports, and business development activity
- Monitor market trends and competitor activity to identify new opportunities
- Represent the company professionally and act as a brand ambassador at all times
Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience in Business Development, Sales, Account Management, or Commercial Sales
- Experience within the glazing, fenestration, construction, façade, building envelope, or building products industry is highly desirable
- Proven track record of generating leads, winning new business, and achieving sales targets
- Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
- Ability to build and maintain long-term client relationships
- Highly organised with excellent pipeline and account management skills
- Self-motivated, proactive, and results-driven
- Full UK Driving Licence preferred
- Comfortable working independently while contributing to a wider team
What's On Offer
- £35,000 – £45,000 basic salary
- 3–5% commission on gross profit generated
- OTE £60,000 – £80,000+
