Position Overview:
The Quality Assurance Operative is the first point of contact within the technical function, working closely with the wider operations team, conducting routine quality assurance testing and monitoring the manufacturing process. They are required to communicate detail on ongoing product quality to the relevant management teams, whilst ensuring strict compliance with Environmental, Health and Safety Policies and Quality / Food Safety processes.
The hourly rate for this role is £15.75 and following the proposed shift pattern ensures a 12% premium is applied bringing the equivalent salary to £38,525.76.
Following a continental shift pattern- Days and Nights including Weekends and Bank holidays working.
Key Responsibilities:
· Operate as the front line management of food safety and quality incidents as they arise including holds, concession and near misses.
· Strict adherence to Environmental, Health and Safety policies and safe operating procedures, whilst promoting a health and safety culture to safeguard all employees.
· Strict adherence to Technical and Quality policies, proactively contributing to the business’ food safety and quality culture, whilst continually maintaining high product quality and GMP standards.
· Conduct regular internal audits of the sites operations in accordance with the Quality Management System (CCP’s / Hygiene / Documentation / GMP / Foreign bodies / GHP / PPE / Allergen) and follow up on completion of corrective actions and ensure they are closed.
· Conduct routine environmental swabbing, hand swabbing and water sampling against schedules.
· Conduct scale and probe calibration and routine inspections on temperature controls.
· Manage stock control of retained samples and conduct EOL taste panels on finished product, record and report results. Highlight if there are issues and be proactive to resolve the issues.
· Carry out various tests and record results such as Incubation, ATP/Allergen Swabbing, Check weighing / Calibration / barcode verification / Temperature Monitoring, as well as ensuring raw materials and packaging are to specification.
· Ensuring companies product release procedure is followed including assessment of all CCP’s from previous days production.
· Assisting in the maintenance of the sites BRCGS certification and other customer certification/audits actively participating in third party audits/visits.
· Compilation and correct issue of new factory documentation.
· Co-ordinate and lead the daily quality panel vs the product QAS.
· Undertake project work as required and initiated by Technical Management ensuring given timelines are adhered to.
· Deliver training as required to new starters in like roles with strict reference to provided training materials.
· Any other duties as required.
Role Requirements:
· Level 2 HACCP
· Level 3 Food Hygiene
· Competent in MS Office, Word, Excel and Outlook
· Internal audit training desirable.
· Have knowledge of BRC and Customers Codes of Practice
