Are you passionate about Health & Safety and looking to take the next step in your career?
Hurst Doors is one of the UK's leading manufacturers of PVC-u panels, composite doors and composite fire doors, supplying trade customers nationwide from our manufacturing facility in Hull. For 30 years, we've built our reputation on quality, innovation and exceptional customer service, supported by a team of dedicated people who are at the heart of everything we do.
We're looking for a proactive Health & Safety Officer to join our growing QHSE team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with practical Health & Safety experience within a manufacturing environment who enjoys working alongside production teams, solving problems and helping to create a safe, positive and engaging workplace.
Working closely with our QHSE Compliance Manager, you'll play a key role in maintaining our Health & Safety Management System while helping to drive a positive safety culture across the business.
This isn't a desk-based compliance role. We're looking for someone who enjoys being on the factory floor, engaging with colleagues, identifying opportunities for improvement and supporting managers to continually raise Health & Safety standards.

- Supporting managers with risk assessments and safe systems of work.
- Investigating accidents, incidents and near misses.
- Promoting positive safety behaviours across the business.
- Coordinating Occupational Health and health surveillance programmes.
- Maintaining training records and supporting competency management.
- Supporting ISO 45001 compliance and internal audits.
- Delivering toolbox talks and Health & Safety communications.
- Monitoring corrective actions and ensuring they are completed.
- Supporting continuous improvement projects across the business.
- Coordinating First Aider and Fire Marshal training and compliance.
About You

- Has excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Is confident challenging unsafe behaviours in a positive, professional and supportive way.
- Has a proactive, practical approach to problem solving.
- Wants to continue developing their Health & Safety career.
Desirable
- IOSH membership.
- Experience working within an ISO 45001 management system.
- Knowledge of COSHH, PUWER and Manual Handling Regulations.
- Experience coordinating Occupational Health programmes or training records.
- Internal auditing experience.
What We Offer
- Competitive salary.
- Profit-related bonus.
- 25 days' annual leave plus bank holidays.
- An additional day's holiday for every completed year of service, up to a maximum of 30 days' annual leave (plus bank holidays).
- Company pension.
- Support towards further Health & Safety qualifications.
- Opportunity to work alongside an experienced QHSE Compliance Manager.
- A varied, hands-on role where you'll make a genuine impact on our safety culture.
