AM Defence & Marine are a long established, successful company based in the South of England. We provide lifting equipment services including thorough examination and servicing as well design and installation to a variety of customers from small engineering companies through to large pharmaceutical companies and military establishments.
The Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated person who has a flexible attitude to carry out servicing, repair and LOLER thorough examinations on a variety of lifting equipment at customer sites throughout the South West of England. You will be based in our Wimborne depot.
As part of the role you will be expected to complete all the necessary associated paperwork in accordance with current legislation and company procedures.
You will also be expected to adhere Health, Safety and Environmental legislation as well as company policies and those laid down by our customers.
Successful candidate must show
· Proven experience working as an engineer, with knowledge of diagnosing and repairing of faults with a basic understanding of both LOLER and PUWER?
· A strong attention to detail is essential
· An ability to both work on your own and as part of a team when required
· Current UK driving licence
· Excellent customer focus, with ability to both listen to customer requirements and communicate with the customer whilst on site
· LEEA qualifications are highly desirable
· An understanding of the principles of working to risk assessments and method statements
· Physically fit and able to work at heights
· Background of working in electrical and/or mechanical engineering with a good understanding of general engineering fundamentals
· Willingness to work overtime when required
· Willingness to work away from home when required
