Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Garden Maintenance professional to contribute to the upkeep and enhancement of outdoor spaces. This role involves working outdoors in various weather conditions, ensuring gardens and landscaped areas are healthy, attractive, and well-maintained. The ideal candidate will have a passion for gardening and horticulture, with a keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to landscape care.
Duties
- Pruning, trimming, and shaping shrubs, trees, and plants to promote healthy growth.
- Mowing lawns and maintaining turf areas using appropriate equipment.
- Installing and maintaining irrigation systems to ensure proper watering of plants and lawns.
- Using hand tools and power tools for planting, digging, edging, and other landscaping tasks.
- Applying fertilisers, pesticides, and other treatments in accordance with safety guidelines.
- Assisting with planting new flora, including flowers, shrubs, and trees.
- Maintaining garden beds by weeding, mulching, and removing debris.
- Monitoring plant health and identifying signs of pests or disease for prompt action.
- Ensuring all equipment is maintained in good working order and stored safely after use.
Skills
- Proficiency in handling hand tools such as secateurs, spades, rakes, and shovels.
- Experience operating power tools including lawnmowers, hedge trimmers, and leaf blowers.
- Knowledge of irrigation systems installation and maintenance.
- Growing experience with a variety of plants, flowers, shrubs, and trees.
- Strong understanding of gardening principles and horticulture practices.
- Ability to carry out landscape maintenance tasks efficiently while adhering to safety standards.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
- Physical fitness to perform outdoor work over extended periods in varying weather conditions.
