Duties
- Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen areas, including washing dishes, pots, pans, and utensils to uphold hygiene standards
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks under the supervision of chefs, such as peeling, chopping, and organizing ingredients
- Support the kitchen team during busy service periods by ensuring supplies are stocked and equipment is ready for use
- Dispose of waste responsibly and ensure recycling procedures are followed to maintain a tidy workspace
- Help with the setup and breakdown of kitchen stations before and after service shifts
- Ensure all health and safety regulations are adhered to at all times within the kitchen environment
- Support serving staff by delivering prepared items to dining areas when needed
Requirements
- Previous experience in a restaurant or hospitality environment
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques and basic cooking skills are advantageous
- Strong understanding of kitchen safety protocols and hygiene standards
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards supporting colleagues
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, or holidays as required
