Christopher Hoare Tree Services are looking for Utility Surveyors to join the team.
The Surveyors daily operational duties may include:
· Reporting to your respective Teams manager or Contracts and Operations Manager.
· Attending meetings with the management team and or clients.
· The careful management and planning of projects & jobs to deliver them in a safe, efficient and profitable manner.
· Customer facing with huge emphasis on building healthy relationships with 3rd parties, landowners and Clients.
· Meeting the expectations of our clients and delivering high quality work with an excellent focus on Client care.
· Meeting landowners, clients, and agents to undertake quotes, survey work or attaining permission for all aspects of work.
· Dealing with and resolving complaints when required.
· Supervising of Team Leaders and Arborists within the department when required.
· Estimations of time, resource, and materials to complete works and/or entire projects.
· Completing work packages, quote packs, survey forms, permission forms, risk assessments and method statements accurately and legibly to meet our own high standards as well as our clients.
· Monitoring Teams to ensure adequate levels of Quality and Safety are maintained onsite by undertaking site visits and audits on behalf of the company and/or client.
· Undertaking post work audits of completed works / sites and recording the information accurately.
· Working to set deadlines and under pressure.
· Working with computers, on Excel, Word and other necessary platforms.
· Driving an assigned company vehicle to and from sites in a safe and responsible manner.
· Carrying out environmental risk assessments and applying for SSSI assents.
· Booking in and programming of traffic management sites.

What do I need?
Christopher Hoare Tree Services have a huge focus on your Continued Professional Development, as such we will provide refresher training, if applicable, on offer of your position and further training throughout your time at the business. The below requirements are taken straight from the Surveyors Job Description, and although we would love to see all the below requirements met, we understand that may not be achievable and are happy to support the right individuals in gaining these.
The Surveyor must hold and keep refreshed the following qualifications to fulfil their role:
Required:
· Full UK driving licence.
· First Aid training
· Manual Handling
· Attending toolbox talks, training sessions and safety engagements as required.
To work within the Utilities Department the Surveyor must hold and keep refreshed the following qualifications in addition to the above:
· UA1 – Competence in Utility Arboriculture Basic Electrical Knowledge
· UA2.1 – Tree species and recognition, growth characteristics and associated hazards
· UA5.1 & UA5.2 – Utility Arboriculture Surveyor / ETR 132 Resilience Arboriculture Surveyor
Qualifications and skills that may be desirable for a Surveyor to hold:
· A minimum of 4 years industry experience
· GCSE or equivalent school certificates in English and Maths
· CAT 1-3 Permit holding.
· Level 3 Diploma in Arboriculture
· Level 4 Diploma in Arboriculture
· Basic Tree inspection qualification
· Professional tree inspection qualification
· IOSH (Institution of Occupational Safety and Health)
· SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme)
Other qualifications which may enable you to provide a wider service within your role which may be needed by the company from time-to-time. Training may be provided for the right individual
Pay: £34,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
