Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Plumber to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing plumbing systems across a variety of settings, including residential, commercial, and industrial environments. This role requires a strong understanding of plumbing principles, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team. The ideal applicant will demonstrate proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding, and carpentry, ensuring all work is completed to high standards of safety and quality.
Duties
- Installing and repairing pipes, fixtures, and fittings in accordance with specifications and safety standards
- Conducting inspections of plumbing systems to identify issues or potential problems
- Using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and carpentry skills to complete tasks effectively
- Performing heavy lifting when required to move materials or equipment safely
- Diagnosing mechanical faults within plumbing systems and implementing appropriate solutions
- Assembling plumbing components and systems with precision
- Ensuring all work complies with relevant building codes and safety regulations
- Assisting in the design and layout of plumbing installations for new builds or renovations
- Maintaining accurate records of work performed and materials used
Qualifications
- Proven experience in plumbing installation, maintenance, and repair
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding techniques, and carpentry skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to plumbing systems
- Basic mathematical skills for measurements and calculations
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
- Experience with commercial driving is advantageous but not essential
- Knowledge of assembly processes related to plumbing components
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in plumbing or related trades are preferred
