RIBA Architect or MCIAT Architectural Technologist

About the Role
G2 is looking for an experienced RIBA Architect or MCIAT Architectural Technologist to join our growing team.
This is a senior, hands-on and highly client-facing role for someone who can confidently manage projects from initial consultation through Planning, Building Regulations and construction.
You will take ownership of your projects, act as the main point of contact for clients, coordinate consultants and contractors, and help manage other members of the team. You will also be supported by a Part II Architectural Assistant, whose workload and development you will oversee.
We are looking for someone with an excellent work ethic who is proactive, productive and commercially aware. You must be able to manage your time, project fees and deadlines effectively while maintaining a consistently high standard of work and client service.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead projects from initial consultation and concept design through to completion.
- Manage client relationships, expectations and communication throughout each project.
- Lead client meetings, presentations and project reviews.
- Prepare and manage Planning Applications and Building Regulations submissions.
- Produce coordinated design and technical information in Revit.
- Liaise with planning officers, building control, consultants, contractors and suppliers.
- Manage project programmes, priorities, fees and deadlines.
- Oversee, mentor and delegate work to a Part II Architectural Assistant and other junior team members.
- Review work produced by the wider team and help maintain quality and productivity.
- Attend site inspections and resolve design and technical issues.
- Ensure projects comply with current planning policy, Building Regulations and relevant legislation.
- Support the directors with workflow planning, team management and practice development.
About You
You should have:
- RIBA Chartered Architect or MCIAT Chartered Architectural Technologist status.
- Strong experience within a UK architectural practice.
- Excellent knowledge of UK Planning and Building Regulations.
- Experience managing projects independently through multiple RIBA stages.
- Outstanding client management and communication skills.
- Strong technical detailing and construction knowledge.
- Advanced Revit skills.
- Experience supervising, mentoring or managing junior members of staff.
- The ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines.
- Strong commercial awareness, including project fees, time management and efficient delivery.
- An excellent work ethic and the ability to work independently without close supervision.
- A proactive, practical and solutions-focused approach.
Experience in residential architecture would be highly advantageous.
Software
G2 works primarily in:
- Revit for design development, coordination and technical delivery.
- Lumion for visualisation and client presentations.
- Point-cloud workflows for measured surveys and existing-building information.
- CAD for basic supporting tasks.
Strong Revit capability is essential. Lumion experience would be beneficial but is not required.
