Job Summary
We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our team working in our bar area at Empire Bar & Bowl. This role offers the opportunity to work in a lively hospitality environment, delivering exceptional guest experiences through attentive service and efficient food and beverage preparation. Candidates should possess a passion for hospitality, excellent communication skills, and a positive attitude. Previous restaurant, catering or bar experience is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided. The position involves working in a fast-paced setting where teamwork, organisation, and customer satisfaction are paramount. Candidates must be able to work early or late shifts, up to 10:00 / 11:00pm at night. You must be over 18 to be able to work behind the bar.
Duties
- Taking orders from guests accurately and efficiently, ensuring prompt service
- Serving food and beverages with professionalism and courtesy
- Preparing simple food items in the kitchen area following food safety standards
- Maintaining cleanliness and organisation of the dining area, bar, and kitchen stations
- Upselling menu items to maximise guest satisfaction and revenue opportunities
- Handling payments accurately using point-of-sale systems
- Assisting in food preparation tasks as required, including garnishing and plating dishes
- Ensuring adherence to food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times
- Providing excellent guest services by addressing customer needs promptly and courteously
- Supporting team members during busy periods to ensure smooth operations
Qualifications
- Previous experience in hospitality, restaurant service, or catering is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates
- Knowledge of food safety standards and basic food preparation techniques is advantageous
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively during busy shifts
- Excellent communication skills with a friendly and professional demeanour
- Ability to work well within a team in a dynamic environment
- Basic maths skills for handling cash transactions accurately
- Experience with upselling menu items to enhance guest experience and sales performance
- Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, or holidays as required
