Duties
- Collect blood samples using venipuncture and capillary techniques, ensuring proper labeling and handling for laboratory analysis
- Assist healthcare professionals with patient examinations, vital sign monitoring, and basic clinical procedures
- Support patients of all ages, including pediatrics, by providing reassurance and clear instructions during procedures
- Maintain strict aseptic techniques to prevent infection and ensure sample integrity
- Prepare and organize laboratory specimens, documentation, and medical records accurately
- Assist with catheterization procedures when trained, ensuring patient comfort and safety
- Support emergency response efforts by performing basic life support (BLS) when necessary and following established protocols
Experience
- Previous hospital experience or clinical setting exposure is highly preferred
- Proven proficiency in phlebotomy techniques with demonstrated ability to draw blood efficiently and safely
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology to understand procedures and communicate effectively with team members
- Experience working with laboratory processes, specimen handling, and aseptic techniques
- Familiarity with pediatric patient care is a plus, demonstrating patience and adaptability in diverse situations
- Certification in basic life support (BLS) or willingness to obtain upon hire is required
- Knowledge of catheterization procedures and laboratory experience enhances your suitability for this role
