Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Seasonal Night Porter to provide exceptional guest services during overnight hours at our esteemed hotel. The ideal candidate will ensure the safety, security, and comfort of our guests and premises, maintaining high standards of hospitality and professionalism throughout their shift. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for hospitality and guest relations to contribute to a welcoming environment during the quieter night hours. This role will run from June to September and is based on 16 hours per week. Please note that flexibility will be required for sickness/holiday cover.
Duties
- Conduct regular security checks of the hotel premises to ensure safety and security for guests and staff
- Welcome and assist guests arriving during night hours, providing a warm and professional service
- Handle guest enquiries via phone and in person with excellent phone etiquette and hospitality skills
- Manage late-night reservations, cancellations, and room allocations efficiently
- Respond promptly to any guest requests or issues, ensuring a high standard of guest satisfaction
- Monitor CCTV systems and perform patrols around the hotel to identify potential security concerns
- Maintain cleanliness of common areas such as corridors, lobby, and reception desk
- Complete nightly reports detailing activities, incidents, or maintenance issues requiring attention
- Assist with administrative tasks as needed, including logging incidents or guest feedback
Experience
- Previous experience in hotel or hospitality environments is highly desirable
- Strong guest service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanour
- Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills in English; multilingual or bilingual abilities are advantageous
- Knowledge of hotel operations and guest services procedures is preferred
- Ability to remain calm under pressure during night shifts and handle sensitive situations professionally
- Experience with security protocols or relevant safety training is a plus
