Monkeys@High Cross is looking for a fun, enthusiastic and creative Breakfast & After School Club Assistant to join our fantastic team!
Our club is based within a primary school and cares for up to 16 children, creating a friendly, relaxed and fun environment where children can play, explore, be creative and enjoy their time with us.
We have lots of opportunities for outdoor play, and no two days are quite the same!
We’re looking for someone who is happy, energetic, caring, reliable and full of ideas, someone who isn't afraid to get involved, get messy, head outdoors and, most importantly, have fun with the children!
What will you be doing?
Working alongside our Club Manager and wider team, you'll help create a safe, stimulating and child-led environment where every child feels welcome and valued.
You'll be involved in:
- Setting up fun, creative and engaging activities.
- Getting involved in games, outdoor play and children's interests.
- Bringing your own ideas and creativity to the club.
- Listening to children and helping them shape their own play and experiences.
- Supporting children to prepare and enjoy their breakfast and afternoon/evening snack.
- Supporting children's wellbeing, confidence and independence.
- Helping to keep the club clean, organised and ready for the next adventure!
- Taking part in regular fire drills and following health and safety procedures.
- Completing relevant records and paperwork.
- Attending relevant training and continuing to develop your skills.
- Working as part of a friendly, supportive team.

Qualifications
Candidates MUST hold a minimum Level 2 qualification recognised by the Care Council for Wales Quality Framework or Skills Active Qualification Framework.
Relevant qualifications include:
- CCLD
- CCPLD
- Childcare
- Playwork
- Teaching Assistant / TA
- Other recognised childcare or playwork qualifications
Teaching Assistants are very welcome to apply!
For suitable candidates, we can also offer a fully funded Transition into Playwork accreditation.
Hours - Monday–Friday | Term Time Only
Breakfast Club: 7.30am–9.00am
After School Club: 3.00pm–5.30pm
You must be available for both morning and afternoon sessions, Monday to Friday.
There may also be opportunities for additional hours during our holiday club weeks at Marshfield Monkeys, CF3 2UW, subject to availability.
Salary & Holiday
Salary dependent on experience and qualifications.
This is a term-time-only contract.
Employees are entitled to 4.7 weeks' paid holiday entitlement, which is taken during school closure periods, in accordance with the terms of the contract.
