Join an OFSTED-registered children's residential home in Derby, providing high-quality care to children and young people with complex needs, including mental health difficulties, behavioural challenges, and learning disabilities.
The Role
As a Therapeutic Practitioner, you'll create a safe, structured, and nurturing environment, building trusted relationships with the young people in your care and supporting them toward positive outcomes using trauma-informed, child-centred approaches.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver day-to-day care in line with individual care plans, risk assessments, and behaviour support plans
Support emotional regulation and behaviour management using trauma-informed approaches
Promote independence through life skills, education routines, and daily living support
Maintain accurate records including daily logs and safeguarding documentation
Work collaboratively with social workers, therapists, and other professionals
Participate in shift work including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins
What We're Looking For
A genuine commitment to working with children and young people
Calm, patient, and professional approach to challenging situations
Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
Understanding of safeguarding principles
NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or willingness to work toward it)
Previous experience in residential care, SEN, or behavioural support is desirable but not essential
