The role of the Adjusting Technician is to work alongside the Field Adjuster to ensure all aspects of claim investigations, consideration and settlement are undertaken. The claims will cover all domestic policy perils and the Adjusting Technician will be responsible for the detailed triaging of claims at the front end. To display a proactive approach to claims management. To move claims to successful and timely conclusions, in line with the guidelines set by our clients whether on a Retained or Delegated basis.
Summary of Position
As a Property Desk Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting two Loss Adjusters who manage property claims across designated areas. You’ll provide day-to-day operational and administrative support, helping to ensure claims progress smoothly, efficiently, and in line with service level requirements. This role combines customer communication, report preparation, case management, and proactive diary planning to help the adjusting team deliver an exceptional customer experience.
This is an ideal role for someone with strong organisational skills, excellent communication abilities, and an interest in developing their technical knowledge of property claims and adjusting processes.
What will you be responsible for:
Adjuster Support & Workflow Management
- Review and manage the Loss Adjusters’ diaries to ensure effective planning for the week ahead.
- Proactively discuss upcoming tasks, deadlines, and key claim activities with the adjusters.
- Identify actions required on claims and progress them where appropriate to support workflow and service delivery.
- Hold and manage specific claims within Work In Progress (WIP) to balance adjusters' caseloads and support your own development.
Claims Handling & Administration
- Prepare, draft, and format reports, letters, schedules, and updates for property claims.
- Gather and review relevant documentation and evidence to support claim investigations.
- Maintain accurate and timely records within claims systems and case management platforms.
Customer & Client Communication
- Handle inbound calls to the adjusting team, providing updates or assistance where appropriate.
- Contact policyholders, brokers, suppliers, and clients to arrange appointments, gather information, or progress claim activities.
- Deliver excellent customer service by managing expectations and ensuring clear, professional communication at all stages.
Collaboration & Development
- Work closely with Loss Adjusters to understand claim requirements, priorities, and technical considerations.
- Build knowledge of property claims processes to gradually handle more complex tasks and decision-making.
- Support continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency in claim progression and adjuster support.
What we need from you:
- Cert CII and / or Cert CILA
- Minimum 2 Year Claims adjusting experience in Domestic insurance claims area
- Problem-solving and decision-making skills in order to bring a claim to a conclusion
- Effective communicator, verbally and in written communication
- Effective Time Management
- IT literate, Business conscious
