Butcher / Experienced Shop Assistant

We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Butcher / Experienced Shop Assistant to join our busy shop.
Butchery experience is advantageous, particularly a good knowledge of different cuts of meat, but we are also interested in candidates with strong retail, food service & shop-serving experience.
The Role
Your duties will include:
- Serving customers in a friendly and professional manner
- Advising customers on different cuts of meat and products
- Preparing and presenting meat and other products for sale
- Cutting and portioning meat where appropriate to your experience
- Serving customers accurately and efficiently during busy periods
- Keeping the shop, counters and equipment clean and tidy
- Restocking displays and maintaining excellent presentation
- Assisting with deliveries, stock and general shop duties
- Following food hygiene, health & safety and cleanliness standards
- Helping with all aspects of running a busy shop
About You
Applicants must be aged 18 or over.
We are looking for someone who is:
- Experienced in a butcher's shop, food retail or customer-facing environment
- Knowledgeable about meat and different cuts (advantageous)
- Friendly, polite and confident with customers
- Able to work quickly and efficiently in a busy environment
- Reliable, punctual and hardworking
- Clean, organised and takes pride in their work
- A good team player who is happy to get involved with all areas of the shop
Butchery experience is preferred but not essential for the right candidate. Training can be provided for the right person who has a good attitude and is keen to learn.
