We are seeking a dedicated and motivated experienced Calf Rearer to join our livestock team. This role plays a key part in ensuring the health, welfare, and performance of calves and youngstock across our farming operations.
Calf & Youngstock Management
- Provide the highest standards of care, husbandry, and welfare for all livestock
- Adhere strictly to calf and youngstock health and management protocols
- Ensure the calf health plan is followed, including routine treatments and management processes
- Ensure calves always have access to appropriate feed, fresh water, and clean, dry bedding
- Identify signs of illness or injury and take immediate remedial action, following protocols or escalating to senior staff
- Accurately complete animal health, welfare, and record-keeping requirements
General Duties
- Prioritise the health and welfare of calves, youngstock, and cows at all times
- Maintain farm equipment to a high standard of cleanliness
- Work effectively and cooperatively with colleagues across all sites
- Complete daily tasks as directed by the Youngstock Manager
To be considered for this role you must be able to demonstrate a strong commitment to animal welfare and best practice farming standards, the ability to follow protocols and work methodically, good communication and teamwork skills, a reliable, conscientious and a proactive approach to work.
This position will be working a shift pattern of 10 days in every 14. You must be willing to work every other weekend and between the hours of 6.00 and 17.00.
We will require you to have a driving licence to be considered for this position.
