We are looking for a reliable and hard-working Kitchen Porter to join the weekend team at The George Inn, a beautifully restored 17th-century coaching inn in the heart of Oakham.

The Role
As Kitchen Porter, you will support the chefs and wider team by ensuring the kitchen runs smoothly, cleanly, and efficiently at all times.
You will be an essential part of the operation, helping maintain the environment required to deliver exceptional hospitality and consistent quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen areas, equipment, and utensils
- Wash dishes, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment efficiently
- Keep work areas organised and hygienic throughout service
- Assist with basic food preparation when required
- Support the kitchen team during busy service periods
- Ensure waste is managed correctly and safely
- Follow all food hygiene, health & safety, and cleaning procedures
Person Specification (About You):
We are looking for someone dependable, proactive, and willing to work as part of a team.
Essential:
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Good attention to cleanliness and organisation
- Reliable and punctual
Desirable:
- Previous experience in a kitchen or hospitality environment (not essential)
- Understanding of basic food hygiene practices
