We are seeking a dedicated and resilient Teaching Assistant (TA) to join our welcoming primary school in Winchester, supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience in SEND to make a genuine difference in the lives of children who need care, patience, and encouragement every day.
About the Role
- Full-time, permanent position
- Working in a complex class with pupils with Autism, non-verbal and aother associated complex needs
- May be require to support across the school with pupils who have a range of needs, including MLD, SLD, Autism and Physical Disabilities.
- Supporting pupils with personal care, toileting, and daily routines
- Promoting independence, confidence, and inclusion in all aspects of school life
- Managing and supporting children with challenging behaviours, requiring resilience, patience, and a positive outlook
About You
- Previous SEND experience in a school or care setting is essential
- Calm, consistent, and resilient when faced with challenges
- Able to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families
- Flexible and adaptable, with a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
- Willing to undertake training to further develop your skills
