Main Purpose of The Role:
The Key purpose for this role within the remarketing Sales Operations team is to ensure day to day delivery of professional auctioneering duties to provide the highest level of buyer experience and optimise sale performance in both physical and online auctions.
- Key Responsibilities:
Establish and maintain an ongoing professional relationship with customers (Vendors), in compliance with the Company’s business ethics and practices, so that the customers are encouraged to increase the number of vehicles entered for sale with the Company and so that the number of vehicles sold is maximised
- To auctioneer to an excellent standard including bringing energy and rhythm to the sale, paying attention to detail auctioneering clearly and demonstrating a high level of product knowledge to support buyers in making informed bids and feel confident offering highest price that is acceptable to them
- Provide feedback to the Stakeholders to ensure issues are actioned, and sale performance is maximised for our vendor customers. Feedback items for improvement to Centres to ensure quality is upheld
- Undertake pre and post-sale activities to ensure customer requirements are fully met along with company objectives: this would include but not be exclusive to negotiating provisionals, placing of not sold stock, post-sale disputes, advice on other products and services, and assisting with outstanding debtors
- Development of Clerks, steering them as to how they can best support the performance of the sale
- Management of vendor lane timings
- React to any issues during sales
- Ownership of the sale and necessary decision ‘in the room’. E.g. Pausing sale due to issues, when to put vehicles on sale, when to take provisional
- Continually seek ways to improve sale delivery experience and performance.
- To participate in all auctioneer team tasks and duties as well as assist with any other ad-hoc tasks required
Knowledge and Experience Required:
- Good report generation and presentation abilities
- Able to work under pressure and to deadlines
- Good I.T. skills including Excel, Powerpoint a real benefit.
- Ability to interpret and utilise data effectively
- Strong ability to work with colleagues at all levels
- Knowledge of all key BCA Services
- Excellent negotiating skills
- Excellent problem solving skills
- Strong relationship building with customers (Vendors and Buyers)
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Demonstrate high levels of integrity and professionalism at all times

- Previous experience in Auctioneering
