The Role
We are looking for a motivated and organised Payroll Officer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for running the payroll for over 70 small businesses, managing bookkeeping tasks and completing VAT returns for clients. You will be working closely with other members of the team to ensure our clients receive accurate, timely, and compliant services.
We are open to discussions regarding hours for the role. We can offer flexibility around school times 4/5 days a week or can offer full time 5 days a week. We will discuss this at interview with each candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process weekly, fortnightly and monthly payrolls for over 70 small businesses, on bespoke software
- Ensure all payroll records are accurate and comply with current legislation
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date bookkeeping records for a range of clients
- Prepare and submit VAT returns on Excel spreadsheets, in line with HMRC requirements
- Liaise with clients to gather necessary information and answer queries
- Work collaboratively with the wider team to support client needs
Skills & Experience:
- Experience in payroll processing is essential
- Previous bookkeeping experience is desirable
- Pay offered will depend on previous experience
- Good attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to meet deadlines
- Good communication skills for liaising with clients and colleagues
- Comfortable using accounting software and Microsoft Office (training on specific systems provided)
