Job Summary

Duties
- Deliver high-quality, interactive lessons in English and Maths aligned with curriculum standards and individual learner needs
- Assess learners’ current skills through diagnostic testing and develop personalised learning plans to address gaps
- Use a variety of teaching methods and IT resources to create engaging learning experiences that promote active participation
- Monitor progress regularly, providing constructive feedback and adjusting teaching strategies accordingly
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress reports, and achievement milestones for each learner
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages open communication and learner confidence
- Collaborate with colleagues and support staff to ensure cohesive delivery of the curriculum and share best practices
Experience
- Proven experience in teaching or tutoring English and Maths at various levels, preferably within alternative education or vocational training settings
- Strong communication skills with the ability to motivate diverse learners and adapt teaching styles as needed
- Knowledge of IT tools used for educational purposes, including online learning platforms and digital assessment tools
- Excellent organisational skills to manage multiple learners’ progress and maintain detailed records efficiently
- Familiarity with basic plumbing or other trades is a plus but not essential; however, understanding of vocational contexts can enhance lesson relevance
- Demonstrated ability to plan lessons effectively, set achievable goals, and track learner development over time
