Job Overview
Ever had that moment where a job slows down because something simple hasn’t been ordered, or turns up late… or worse, completely wrong?
Yeah. That’s where buying actually matters.
At Complete Roofing Systems, buying isn’t just admin and order forms. It’s about keeping projects moving without friction. Getting the right materials, at the right time, for the right price - before anyone on site even has a reason to chase.
If it’s done properly, no one notices.
If it’s not, everyone does.
This role is about learning how to get it right.
Because here, buying isn’t tucked away in the background. You’ll be working with the people running the jobs, speaking to suppliers, understanding how decisions are made, and building the kind of experience that turns into a career.
Responsibilities
- Raising purchase orders and keeping orders on track
- Speaking with suppliers to get prices, lead times and availability
- Supporting procurement for live projects and upcoming jobs
- Keeping records accurate and up to date (orders, deliveries, pricing)
- Working with the commercial and site teams to make sure materials land when they should
- Assisting with stock control and inventory management to ensure materials and consumables are available when needed
- Supporting stock rotation and maintaining organised storage areas to minimise waste and reduce shortages
- Monitoring stock levels and highlighting replenishment requirements to support project delivery
What We're Looking For
- Some exposure to construction, roofing or buying would be beneficial (even if it's limited)
- Experience of stock control, stock management or warehouse operations would be advantageous, although full training will be provided for the right candidate.
- Understanding of stock rotation and inventory accuracy would be beneficial
- Organised, with good attention to detail
- Confident picking up the phone and speaking to suppliers
- Willing to learn and ask questions
- Able to manage multiple tasks without dropping the ball
What You'll Get
- Proper training and support – not just "figure it out"
- Real exposure to how projects are won and delivered
- A business that values doing things right, not just quickly
- Competitive salary + benefits (PMI, life insurance, pension)
- 25 days holiday + bank holidays
- Progression into a full Buyer role as you develop
If you're looking to get into the industry and want to be somewhere that actually teaches you the job (properly), this is it.
Oh, and we're also kind of cool.
Pay: £28,000.00-£32,000.00 per year
