Role Summary:
Based at our manufacturing facility in South Brent, Devon, the Production Process Operative will be hands-on and practical, often quite physical, working in a busy manufacturing environment across several different product/production lines as required, providing day-to-day manufacturing support whilst ensuring that all products meet the company’s defined quality standard.
Responsibilities:
- To actively participate and provide support across all manufacturing processes including some which require manual handling capabilities and a good level of physical fitness.
- Support in the Introduction of New Products or Processes into the organisation in a timely and cost-effective manner
- Support structured problem-solving projects linked to day-to-day manufacturing issues
- To actively promote a safe work environment and to support the H&S officer
- To effectively maintain production schedules, reporting to the line manager
- To continually drive towards meeting or exceeding KPIs by finding ways to improve productivity and maintain quality, reduce process driven waste, scrap and rework, improve stock control and maintain excellent records.
- Support existing and implement new continuous improvement activities.
- Support Implementation of any changes to products or processes
- To follow Standard Operating Procedures to support manufacturing processes.
- To carry out routine Maintenance Procedures on plant and equipment and to report any issues or unsafe conditions.
- Ensure that customer requirements are met
- To effectively communicate with production teams, senior management team, suppliers and other stakeholders.
- Compliance with Environmental, Health & Safety and Legislation and Company’s Policies and Standards
Candidate requirements:
- Dexterity, accuracy and attention to detail are essential
- Hardworking, reliable and committed with exemplary work ethic
- Capable of maintaining focus and efficiency with repetitive work for long periods of time
- Preferably assembly line, soldering, machining, toolmaking experience
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Computer skills preferable
- Excellent communication skills, teamwork and a can-do attitude
- Committed to meeting the company’s mission, aims and objectives
- The company will wish to carry out a DBS check on any successful candidate.
