Overview
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Cook/Chef to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and cooking, with experience working in a fast-paced kitchen environment. The successful applicant will be responsible for preparing a variety of dishes made to spec, maintaining cleanliness, and supporting the overall operation of the kitchen.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a wide range of dishes according to recipes and quality standards
- Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards
- Assist in meal planning and portion control to minimise waste
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of workstations, utensils, and equipment
- Monitor stock levels and assist with inventory management
- Collaborate with team members to deliver excellent service during busy periods
- Support the presentation of dishes to meet aesthetic standards
- Follow health and safety procedures at all times to prevent accidents or contamination
Requirements
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or as a chef in a restaurant or similar setting
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to work as part of a team in a dynamic environment
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and menus
- Previous experience serving or working in hospitality is desirable but not essential
Pay: £12.72-£14.00 per hour
