MadiganGill are recruiting for an experienced Document Controller to join a major, high-profile construction project based in Bristol. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a large-scale programme, working within a collaborative project team and playing a key role in ensuring project documentation is managed efficiently throughout the project lifecycle.
This is a hybrid role, offering flexibility to work from home alongside regular attendance at the Bristol project office. Occasional travel to London will also be required.
As Document Controller, you will be responsible for managing, controlling, and maintaining project documentation, ensuring all records are accurate, up to date, and compliant with project and company standards.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing the flow of project documentation between internal teams, contractors, and external stakeholders.
- Maintaining document control systems and ensuring all documentation is correctly recorded, distributed, and archived.
- Ensuring document registers remain accurate and up to date.
- Supporting project teams with document management processes and best practice.
- Monitoring document workflows, approvals, and revision control.
- Producing reports on document status and project compliance.
You must have the following:
- Proven experience as a Document Controller within the construction, infrastructure, engineering, or major projects environment.
- Experience working on large, complex projects with multiple stakeholders and high volumes of documentation.
- Strong understanding of document control processes, including revision control, document numbering, transmittals, approvals, and document lifecycle management.
- Experience using Electronic Document Management Systems (EDMS) such as Aconex, Asite, Viewpoint, SharePoint, Autodesk Construction Cloud, or similar.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet project deadlines.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills with the confidence to liaise with project managers, engineers, contractors, consultants, and clients.
