Job Overview
As the Assistant Service Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the Registered/Service Manager with the day-to-day running of our supported accommodation service. You will help ensure that our young people receive high-quality, person-centred support while maintaining compliance with Ofsted standards, safeguarding legislation, and organisational policies.
You will lead by example, supervise and support staff, contribute to care planning, and help create a positive, nurturing environment where young people can achieve their goals and develop independence.

Key Responsibilities
- Support the Service Manager in the daily operation of the home.
- Lead shifts and provide guidance to the support team.
- Promote safeguarding and the welfare of all young people.
- Build positive and trusting relationships with residents.
- Monitor support plans, risk assessments, and key work sessions.
- Ensure accurate and timely record keeping.
- Support staff supervision, mentoring, and development.
- Liaise with social workers, education providers, healthcare professionals, and external agencies.
- Assist with audits, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance.
- Promote independence, education, employment, and positive outcomes for young people.
Experience
- Experience working with young people in supported accommodation, residential care, or a similar setting. (1 year required)
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding and child protection.
- Ability to remain calm and make informed decisions under pressure.
- A genuine passion for supporting young people to reach their full potential.
Licence/Certification:
- Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young People's Workforce (or equivalent).
- Level 5 Leadership qualification (or willingness to work towards it).
- Full UK driving licence.
Pay Rates:
Full time- £450/ week with increment over output
Part time- £350/ week with increment over output
