- Ensure the highest possible levels of care are maintained by supporting/assisting service users when required. Tasks include supporting care team with food and drink on the floors and serving meals and drinks in the dining rooms
- Ensure the dining rooms are always kept clean tidy and well presented.
- Serve meals direct to service users in the dining rooms with the support of the care team
- Ensure clients are reminded of the choices on offer for each part of the meal served
- Ensure that water - wine glasses are topped up as required
- Be aware of clients who may have swallowing difficulties or special dietary requirements – link in with care team if unsure
- Provide attention when needed whilst ensuring service users retain their comfort and dignity.
- Pay attention to assisting service users who have limited mobility or physical difficulties, making the best use of aids provided.
- Closely monitor service users who may be confused and/or who have behavioural problems.
- Assist in the promotion of independence during meal service
Document all food and drink given to each individual service user
- Under the supervision and guidance of senior care staff report on the nutritional well- being of service users.
- Make visitors feel welcome and provide refreshments/assistance when required.
Wash up - clean and maintain equipment used by service users/ hostess, e.g. cutlery – crockery – glasses etc. ensure the care centre is kept clean and tidy in line with the Company’s attention to detail philosophy.
- Ensure dining room is cleaned and set up for next service – paying attention to tables and chairs
- Ensure the dining room floors are kept free of debris and any damp areas which may cause a slip or fall
- Participate in Staff and service user meetings as and when required.
- Maintain professional knowledge and competence.
Attend mandatory training days/courses on or off site as and when required.
- Participate in relevant NVQ training to achieve required qualifications.
