Prepare and cook a range of home-style bistro dishes (soups, salads, hot meals, specials) incorporating, cultural and dietary needs as required by the companions and customers
· Work efficiently during busy service periods
- Bake cakes, slices, and desserts from scratch, follow recipes while maintaining consistency and high quality
- Assist the Bistro Manager with menu planning and daily specials
· Participate in catering events e.g. meetings and special promotional visits as required
- Ensure all food is prepared and presented to a high standard
- Maintain a clean, organised, and hygienic kitchen. Follow food safety and hygiene regulations at all times, Support the Catering Manager with inspections undertaken by LA, Environmental Health Inspector and external verifiers ensuring we meet the necessary Health, Hygiene and Safety requirements
- Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering supplies
- Minimise food waste and manage portion control
· Support the Catering Manager and team in effective control of catering revenue and expenditure, whilst also provide training and instruction to companions on the safe handling and preparation of food, promoting a supportive and nurturing environment for companions in a manner which embodies the Emmaus ethos.
Actively contribute and support the Bistro Manager and team to develop and grow the catering provision across the Emmaus Village Carlton site.
