We are looking for a passionate, friendly and hard-working Lead Practitioner to join our nursery team at Chesterton.

The Role
This is a full-time role working Monday to Friday, 8 hours a day/40 hours per week, following a shift pattern. Chesterton is open between the hours of 7.15am-6pm
Key Duties:
- Being a key person carrying out all related responsibilities in building relationships with a small group of children and their families according to the EYFS
- Promoting and supporting positive relationships with parents, children and colleagues
- Take necessary steps to safeguard all who access the setting, adhering to the safeguarding policy
- Ensuring the health, safety and well-being of the children at all times
- Flexible in working hours if required.
- Support daily routines.
- Follow policies and procedures.
- Leading staff members and teams.
- Light cleaning duties.
- Maintain a high level of supervision.
- Maintain confidentiality.
Requirements
The successful applicant will need to have…
- Level 3 qualification
- Previous room leader experience
- Strong leadership skills
- Work well in a team
- Great understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage framework (EYFS)
- Strong passion for a child-centred approach to play and learning
- Excellent communication skills; written and verbal
- Excellent organisation skills and time-management
