We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Assistant to join our nursery team.
Hours: Monday to Friday, 12:00pm – 5:00pm
The role will involve supporting the nursery cook with daily kitchen duties, food preparation, serving meals and snacks, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the kitchen and food areas.
Main duties include:
- Assisting the nursery cook with preparing and serving meals and snacks
- Washing up and keeping the kitchen clean and organised
- Cleaning surfaces, equipment and food preparation areas
- Following food hygiene and health and safety procedures
- Helping to maintain a safe and clean environment for the children
- Supporting with general kitchen tasks as required
Requirements:
- Must have a valid Food Hygiene Certificate
- Must have the right to work in the UK
- Excellent spoken and written English is required for communication with staff and understanding health, safety and food hygiene procedures
- Reliable, punctual and organised
- Able to work well as part of a team
- Previous kitchen or nursery experience is desirable but not essential
