The Shot Blaster is responsible for preparing metal components by shot blasting to the required quality and specification. This role is critical to ensuring surfaces are clean, correctly finished, and ready for coating, painting, or further fabrication processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate shot blasting machinery safely and efficiently
- Prepare steel and metal components for blasting, including loading and unloading
- Ensure blasted materials meet required surface finish and quality standards
- Adjust machine settings (blast pressure, media flow, speed) as required
- Inspect workpieces before and after blasting to identify defects or issues
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of shot blasting equipment
- Monitor and replenish blasting media as required
- Follow all health, safety, and environmental procedures at all times
- Maintain a clean and organised work area
- Work collaboratively with welders, fabricators, and painters to meet production schedules
- Accurately complete basic production and quality records
Skills & Experience
Essential:
- Experience operating shot blasting or similar surface preparation equipment
- Good understanding of health and safety in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Ability to work to quality standards and production targets
- Physically fit and able to handle manual tasks
- Good attention to detail

Pay: £15.00-£17.00 per hour
