We're looking for a Subcontract Procurement Manager to join our KierBAM team based in Plymouth – Devonport Royal Dockyard.

Hours: 42.5 hours per week

KierBAM is a Joint Venture partnership between Kier and Bam Nuttall, currently delivering an exciting redevelopment project at a Royal Navy site in Plymouth. As a Subcontract Procurement Manager, you'll play a vital role in overseeing the acquisition of goods and services, developing procurement strategies, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring timely and cost-effective purchasing to support our operational needs.
What will you be responsible for?
As a Subcontract Procurement Manager, you'll be working within the Procurement team, supporting them in delivering efficient and effective procurement solutions. Your day to day will include:
- Developing and implementing procurement policies, procedures, and strategies to support project delivery
- Identifying, evaluating, and selecting suppliers, and negotiating contracts, terms, and pricing
- Managing the end-to-end procurement process including purchase orders and delivery tracking
- Monitoring supplier performance and collaborating with internal departments to forecast demand
- Leading and developing the procurement team whilst identifying opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement
What are we looking for?
This role of Subcontract Procurement Manager is great for you if:
- You havepost-qualification experience in procurement or supply chain management, ideally within the nuclear or defence sector
- You hold a commercial-related qualification (HNC, BSc, MSc, BEng, or MEng) and CSCS White PQP/AQP
- You possess strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills with excellent analytical abilities
- You have knowledge of procurement software and ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle
- You can manage multiple projects under tight deadlines and have an understanding of contract law and vendor management
