Working Pattern:
4 days on & 4 days off - 12 hours shift per day.
First two days will be early shifts - 5:45am to 5:45am
Second two shifts - 5.45pm to 5:45am
Key responsibilities:
- Specific minor and medium responsibilities as prescribed by the site Engineering Manager/Chief Engineer e.g. Regular daily inspections and meter readings.
- Signing off work orders from the CAFEM System for PPM if required.
- Adding breakdown information to the CAFEM System if required.
- Ensuring job handover between shifts.
- PPM tasks on equipment with Production Team.
- Ensuring a good standard of work is achieved by shift engineers.
- Ordering of spare parts (where specified) to the prescribed standard. Arranging the shift Rota in conjunction with the Engineering Manager/Chief Engineer.
- Covering a range of tasks usually undertaken by the Engineering Manager/Chief Engineer in his/her absence, such as;
- Ordering of spare parts.
- Arranging Shift Rota.
- Checking maintenance standards undertaken by shift engineers.
- Raising status of problems/breakdowns with the wider business.
- Covering shifts where appropriate.
- Raising remedial work orders using the CAFEM System.
- Adding breakdowns to the CAFEM System.
- Dealing with any matters of discipline with site Management.
- Ensuring all work undertaken by or in the presence of the Senior Engineer is done so in accordance with all company and legal safety standards (e.g. Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, Engineering Activity Sign Off, local Safe Systems of Work).
Ensuring site operations are undertaken within company procedures and guidelines in general and were observed otherwise ensure the site Management team are made aware.

The ideal candidate should meet the following criteria:
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
- Electrical Installation Maintenance.
- Mechanical Fabrication/Maintenance.
- Electronic fault finding to component level.
- Ability to develop effective working relationships across all levels of management and staff and work as part of a team.
- High attention to detail.
- Ability to make decisions.
- Flexible and able to react quickly to the needs of the business.
- Problem solving/analytical ability.
- Self-motivated.
- Flexibility to work unsocial hours, possibly including night shift.
Education/Experience:
- Must possess a recognised qualification relevant to the role (e.g. mechanical or electrical C&G).
- Skilled in both Electrical and Mechanical trades: Apprenticeship with indentures preferred.
- Preferred knowledge of other engineering disciplines including pneumatics, hydraulics, steam systems.
