Phaze Electrical Ltd is a medium-sized electrical contractor based in Nailsea, Bristol. We are an established and growing business, and we are looking for an experienced finance professional to join our team and take ownership of the company's financial operations.
The Role
We are seeking a skilled, organised and self-motivated Finance Manager to manage the day-to-day financial activities of the business.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance professional with construction industry experience who enjoys working independently and taking responsibility for the accurate management and reporting of a company's finances.
You will work closely with the wider team, ensuring our financial processes are well controlled, accurate and provide clear information to support the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the company's financial and management accounts
- Oversee accounts payable
- Process monthly payroll
- Carry out job costing and monitor project profitability
- Manage subcontractor orders and purchase orders
- Manage cash flow, including reconciliations and forecasting
- Ensure financial records are accurate and maintained in a timely manner
- Support the business with financial reporting and management information
Skills & Experience
Essential:
- Previous experience working within the construction industry
- Strong financial accounting and management accounting knowledge
- Experience with job costing
- Experience using Sage Accounts
- Experience using Construction Manager Cloud (CMC)
- Good knowledge of CIS (Construction Industry Scheme)
- Good knowledge of DRC (Domestic Reverse Charge) VAT
- Strong Excel skills
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently, manage priorities and meet deadlines
- Strong attention to detail
Desirable:
- A-Level or equivalent qualification
- 5 years or more experience in finance/accounting, ideally including management responsibility
