Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Health Care Assistant to provide high-quality support to individuals in care homes and home care settings. The successful candidate will assist with daily activities, promote well-being, and ensure residents' comfort and safety. Responsibilities
- Support residents with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Assist with mobility and transfers, ensuring safety at all times
- Help prepare and serve meals, respecting dietary requirements and preferences
- Maintain accurate care plans and document any changes in residents’ conditions
- Provide companionship and emotional support to residents
- Follow health and safety protocols diligently to ensure a safe environment
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare professionals
- Support the organisation of activities that promote mental and physical well-being
- Utilise IT systems to update records and manage care documentation efficiently
- Drive or accompany residents as required for appointments or outings
Qualifications
- Experience working in a care home or providing home care is desirable but not essential; full training will be provided for suitable candidates
- Good communication skills in English, both written and verbal
- Basic IT skills for maintaining electronic records and documentation
- Valid driving licence is advantageous for roles involving transportation of residents or equipment
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate compassionately and effectively
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- A caring attitude with a genuine interest in supporting vulnerable individuals
