This is an excellent opportunity for experienced residential childcare professionals looking for flexible work that fits around existing commitments while becoming part of a supportive, therapeutic team.
As a Bank Residential Support Worker, you will provide consistent, nurturing care to children who have experienced trauma and adversity. You'll help create a safe, predictable environment where young people can build trusting relationships, develop resilience and achieve positive outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality care and support to children and young people.
- Build trusting, therapeutic relationships through consistent and compassionate care.
- Support young people with education, daily routines, health appointments and recreational activities.
- Promote independence and develop life skills.
- Complete accurate daily records, reports and documentation.
- Work collaboratively with the wider team to deliver therapeutic, child-centred care.
- Safeguard and promote the welfare of children at all times.
About You
We're looking for someone who:
- Has experience working in a children's residential home or a similar care setting.
- Is passionate about improving the lives of children and young people.
- Can remain calm, reflective and therapeutic during challenging situations.
- Has excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Is flexible and available to work 24-hour shifts (including sleep-ins), as well as weekends and bank holidays, in line with the needs of a 24-hour residential service.
- Holds a full UK driving licence (preferred).
- Holds, or is willing to work towards, the Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare.
