Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly, professional Optical Assistant to join our team for 18.5 hours / week, plus holiday cover. No Sundays/ Bank Holidays. The successful candidate will welcome patients, give appropriate advice, assisting with patient examinations and managing optical products. This role is ideal for individuals interested in healthcare and eye health and we have a reputation for a non-rushed, professional service. Responsibilities
- Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and updating patient records
- Taking state of the art retinal images using 3D OCT and ultra wide field camera
- perform visual field testing
- Support dispensing opticians with orders, repairs etc
- Assist optometrists by preparing equipment and ensuring patient comfort
- Provide advice to patients
- Possibly be involved with managing optical stock levels, including ordering and stock organisation
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the optical laboratory and consultation areas
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the practice
Requirements
- Previous experience or familiarity with optical equipment or healthcare is preferred
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients and team members
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
- A professional attitude with a commitment to providing exceptional patient care
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities within a busy practice environment
