Retail & Delivery Assistant – Flowertime & The Big Pink Tree, Hayle

We’re looking for a friendly, hardworking and enthusiastic Retail & Delivery Assistant to join our team at Flowertime & The Big Pink Tree in Hayle.
We’re an established, independent, family-run business, bringing together beautiful fresh flowers, stunning bouquets, gifts, greeting cards, Jellycat and lots of lovely things – and we’re looking for the right person to become part of our team.
What will you be doing?
Your role will include:
Selling our beautiful floral and gift products
Serving customers and creating a welcoming shopping experience
Operating the till and taking telephone orders
Helping customers with their enquiries and orders
Driving our delivery van and delivering bouquets and floral arrangements throughout West Cornwall.
Handling deliveries carefully and professionally
Unpacking, restocking and displaying new stock
Keeping the shop looking clean, tidy and beautifully presented
Working closely with the rest of our team to keep the shop running smoothly
The person we're looking for
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Friendly, approachable and confident when dealing with customers
- Passionate about providing exceptional customer service
- Reliable, hardworking and enthusiastic
- Happy working as part of a small, busy team
- Flexible and willing to go the extra mile
- Confident using a till and handling telephone orders
- Organised and able to work independently when required
- A confident driver with a full clean driving licence
- Familiar with Hayle and the West Cornwall area
- Able to easily commute to Hayle
Previous experience working in a retail environment is essential. Knowledge of flowers, plants or floristry would be an advantage, but enthusiasm and the right attitude are just as important.

Hours
This is a permanent position, working 3 days per week on a two-week rota, with additional hours available to cover holidays and our busiest periods.
Week 1: Monday, Tuesday & Friday – 10am–5pm
Week 2: Monday & Friday – 10am–5pm, plus Saturday – 9.30am–4.30pm
Please note that our busiest times of the year – particularly Christmas, Valentine's Day and Mother's Day – can involve longer working days and Sunday working, so flexibility during these periods is essential.
Pay & position
We offer a competitive rate of pay for the right person.
There is 1 position available and the role is offered on a permanent basis following successful completion of a probationary period.
