Job Summary
We are seeking Workshop Mechanic / Plant Fitter to join our team in Wimborne. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing equipment to ensure smooth and efficient operations. This role requires a proactive approach, technical knowledge, and the ability to work safely within a busy workshop environment. The position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong mechanical background and experience in equipment maintenance.
Duties
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on plant machinery and equipment.
- Repair and troubleshoot mechanical issues using hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment.
- Diagnostic/fault finding, repairs and servicing of equipment.
- Perform assembly and disassembly of machinery, ensuring all repairs meet safety standards.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs carried out.
- Support safety protocols by identifying potential hazards and implementing corrective actions.
Experience
- Proven experience in mechanical repair, workshop engineer or plant fitter or similar role.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently.
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
- Welding and soldering experience would be an advantage but not essential.
Pay: £30,000.00-£34,000.00 per year
