Job Summary
Join our dynamic team as an Electrical Estimator or Trainee Electrical Estimator, where you'll play a vital role in preparing accurate cost estimates for electrical projects. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in electrical estimating, learn industry best practices, and contribute to successful project execution. Whether you're starting your career or bringing some experience, you'll be supported in growing your expertise while ensuring precise and competitive bids that meet project requirements and client expectations.
We are open to candidates at different levels of experience, from an established Electrical Estimator through to a Junior Estimator with a minimum of 2 years' relevant electrical estimating experience being ideal but not essential.
We will also consider a qualified electrician who has progressed from working on the tools into an office-based estimating role, providing they have suitable estimating experience and are confident working with computers and estimating software.
Duties
- Review project drawings, specifications, and scope of work to determine electrical material and labor requirements
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for commercial and industrial electrical installations, and upgrades.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and suppliers to gather pricing information and ensure accuracy.
- Assist in developing bid proposals that are competitive yet profitable
- Monitor project costs during execution to support effective cost control and budgeting.
- Support the review of subcontractor quotes and negotiate pricing where appropriate.
- Maintain organized records of all estimating documents, correspondence, and revisions for audit purposes.
Requirements
- Strong interest in electrical systems, construction processes, and cost estimation techniques
- Basic understanding of electrical components, wiring diagrams, and industry standards is preferred
- Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical skills
- Good communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and suppliers
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new estimating software or tools
- Knowledge of cost control principles to help manage project budgets efficiently
- Prior experience or training in electrical estimating is a plus but not mandatory; training will be provided for trainees

Pay: £35,000.00-£65,000.00 per year
