Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Nursery Room Leader to work in our Upper Seedlings room with children aged 16 - 26 months and join our vibrant early childhood education team. In this vital role, you will lead a dynamic group of young children, fostering a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment that promotes their growth and development. Duties
- Lead daily activities within the nursery room, creating engaging lesson plans that support early childhood development milestones
- Supervise and support a team of childcare assistants and educators, ensuring high standards of care and classroom management
- Foster a warm, welcoming environment where children feel safe, valued, and encouraged to explore their interests
- Observe and assess each child's progress, documenting developmental milestones and communicating with parents regularly
- Implement health and safety protocols diligently, including first aid procedures when necessary
- Coordinate with colleagues to plan age-appropriate activities that promote social skills, language development, and emotional well-being
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, incidents, and developmental observations in compliance with licensing regulations
Skills
- Proven experience working with children in preschool or daycare settings, including toddler and infant care
- Strong knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices
- Excellent classroom management skills to create an organized, positive learning environment
- Ability to lead and motivate a team while maintaining high standards of childcare quality
- First aid certification complemented by knowledge of emergency response procedures
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special education needs is highly desirable
- Effective communication skills for engaging with children, parents, and team members confidently
- Familiarity with behavior management techniques to support positive social interactions among children
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to childcare environments, including hygiene standards and safety protocols
- Flexibility to adapt activities based on children's interests and developmental stages
