Radar is a full-service Marketing, PR, Publishing and Events Agency specialising in B2B campaigns within the built environment. We work across brand communications, editorial, digital media and live events, delivering commercial opportunities for businesses across construction and building technologies.
We’re looking for a Media & Advertising Sales Manager to take commercial ownership of a portfolio of B2B magazine titles and digital platforms. This is a high-activity, office-based sales role focused on selling advertising solutions across print, digital and email channels.
This role is suited to someone who thrives on outbound sales, enjoys hitting the phones, and is motivated by personal targets and uncapped commission.
The Role
As Media & Advertising Sales Manager, you’ll be responsible for generating advertising revenue across dedicated magazine brands and their associated digital platforms. You’ll manage a mix of established accounts while actively targeting new advertisers, selling a range of solutions including print advertising, digital-only placements, website banners and email/newsletter sponsorships.
You’ll run your own sales pipeline end-to-end - researching prospects, pitching opportunities, negotiating commercial terms and closing business - with clear ownership of revenue performance across your titles.
This is not a field sales role. The majority of your time will be spent selling over the phone, email and MS Teams, with occasional event attendance where it directly supports revenue generation.
Key Responsibilities
- Take commercial ownership of assigned magazine titles and digital platforms.
- Sell advertising across print, digital-only publications, websites and email/newsletters.
- Manage and grow existing advertiser relationships through renewals, upselling and cross-selling.
- Proactively target new advertisers through outbound prospecting and lead generation.
- Deliver confident, commercially focused sales pitches aligned to client objectives.
- Negotiate pricing and handle objections to secure bookings against revenue targets.
- Maintain a strong, accurate sales pipeline and activity records within the CRM.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to support cross-selling and bundled deals.
- Ensure all commercial agreements and client details are accurately documented.
- Attend selected industry events where they directly support commercial outcomes.
- Share market insight, competitor activity and advertiser feedback with the wider team.
Experience & Skills
- Proven experience in B2B sales (media or advertising sales highly desirable).
- Confident, persuasive telephone manner with strong objection-handling skills.
- Highly motivated, target-driven and comfortable working in a phone-heavy environment.
- Strong organisation skills with excellent attention to CRM and data accuracy.
- Commercial mindset with a proactive, resilient attitude.
- Comfortable managing multiple deadlines and revenue targets simultaneously.
Reporting Line
This role reports directly to the Managing Director, with additional support from the Business Development Director.
