HGV Mechanic / Trainee HGV Mechanic – Training Provided
Location: 9 Alanbrooke Rd, Carlisle CA1 2UT
We are currently looking for an experienced HGV Mechanic to join our excellent team and become part of our workshop operation.
Training & Development:
We are happy to consider candidates with a strong mechanical background who are looking to develop their skills within the HGV industry. Full training and support will be provided to the right candidate, with opportunities to attend relevant training courses and develop their knowledge of HGV maintenance and repair.

Requirements:
- Experience in heavy vehicle mechanics
- Full UK driving licence (HGV licence would be an advantage, but is not essential)
- Computer literate
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Ability to use own initiative
- Good literacy and numeracy skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Good problem-solving skills
- A strong work ethic is essential
Responsibilities:
- Test vehicles and diagnose faults, including using diagnostic equipment
- Recognise and report vehicle and component defects or symptoms of impending failure
- Service, adjust and repair vehicles and components
- Complete accurate job records
- Carry out work safely and in accordance with company procedures
- Attend training courses to keep technical knowledge and skills up to date
- Maintain a high standard of workmanship and ensure vehicles are safe and roadworthy
