About Trade Mastermind
Trade Mastermind is a leading UK business growth and education organisation helping ambitious business owners build more profitable, scalable and sustainable businesses.
Through coaching, training, events, mentoring and strategic support, we help entrepreneurs improve their sales, marketing, leadership, operations and overall commercial performance.
As Trade Mastermind continues to scale, data is becoming increasingly important to how we understand performance, identify opportunities and make strategic decisions.
We are now looking for an experienced Director of Data to lead our data strategy and build the infrastructure, governance and business intelligence capabilities required for the next stage of our growth.
The Opportunity
This is a senior leadership position with responsibility for transforming data into a strategic asset across Trade Mastermind.
Working closely with the CEO and senior leadership team, you will establish a clear data strategy that gives the organisation accurate, timely and commercially meaningful insight into performance.
You will bring together information across Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, Finance and Operations, creating greater visibility of the complete customer journey and enabling leadership to make faster, better-informed decisions.
This is not simply a reporting or analytics role. We are looking for someone capable of building the data foundations, systems, governance and intelligence capability of a rapidly growing organisation.
The Role
As Director of Data, you will take strategic ownership of how data is captured, structured, governed, connected and utilised across the business.
You will assess our existing data landscape and develop a roadmap for improving data quality, architecture, reporting and business intelligence.
A major priority will be establishing a reliable single source of truth, ensuring leadership can confidently understand performance across areas including lead generation, sales conversion, revenue, customer behaviour, retention and operational performance.
You will develop executive-level dashboards and reporting that move beyond simply presenting numbers. Your role will be to identify what the data is telling us, highlight risks and opportunities and translate complex information into clear commercial recommendations.
You will also work closely with teams across the organisation to improve how information flows between systems, strengthen CRM and data processes, reduce manual reporting and identify opportunities for integration and automation.
As our data capability develops, you will establish appropriate governance, ownership and quality standards to ensure information remains accurate, secure and scalable.
Key Areas of Responsibility
Your responsibilities will include developing and delivering the organisation's data strategy, establishing company-wide data governance and quality standards, and creating reliable executive reporting and business intelligence.
You will work closely with senior leaders to define the KPIs and metrics that genuinely drive business performance and ensure departments have access to accurate information to support decision-making.
You will oversee the development of dashboards, reporting frameworks and analytical capabilities while identifying opportunities to improve our data architecture, integrations and automation.
You will also provide deeper commercial analysis across areas such as marketing attribution, sales performance, customer acquisition, conversion, retention, lifetime value and profitability.
As the organisation grows, you will help build and lead the appropriate data and analytics capability, whether through internal team development, external specialists or technology partners.
About You
We are looking for an experienced data leader who understands that great data capability is ultimately about improving business performance.
You are likely to have held a senior position such as Head of Data, Director of Data, Head of Business Intelligence, Director of Analytics or a comparable leadership role.
You will have significant experience developing data strategies, improving data governance and creating reporting and analytics capabilities within a commercially focused organisation.
You should be comfortable working with senior executives and able to translate complex data into clear conclusions, recommendations and actions.
Strong knowledge of modern data environments, CRM platforms, business intelligence tools and data integration is important. Experience with technologies such as SQL, Power BI, Tableau, Looker, HubSpot or Salesforce would be highly advantageous.
You will also understand data governance, UK GDPR and the importance of maintaining appropriate standards around data quality, security and ownership.
Most importantly, you will combine technical credibility with strong commercial judgement, leadership capability and the confidence to challenge assumptions using evidence.
Experience within a fast-growth, entrepreneurial or scaling organisation would be particularly valuable.
What Success Looks Like
Success in this role means Trade Mastermind has a trusted, connected and commercially valuable data environment that supports decision-making across the organisation.
The CEO and senior leadership team will have clear visibility of the metrics that matter most and confidence in the information being presented.
Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, Finance and Operations will operate from consistent information rather than disconnected reports or competing versions of the truth.
Data quality will improve, manual reporting will reduce and opportunities for automation and integration will be identified and implemented.
Most importantly, data will become an active part of how Trade Mastermind identifies opportunities, predicts performance, allocates resources and makes strategic decisions.
Why Join Trade Mastermind?
This is an opportunity to build and shape the data capability of an ambitious organisation during an important stage of growth.
Rather than inheriting a finished data function, you will have the opportunity to define the strategy, improve the infrastructure and establish the standards that will support Trade Mastermind as it continues to scale.
You will work directly with senior leadership, influence major commercial decisions and have visibility across every key area of the organisation.
We are looking for someone who wants more than a traditional data leadership position – someone who wants to use data to drive measurable commercial performance and help shape the future of the business.
If you are an experienced data leader who can combine strategy, technology, analytics and commercial thinking, we would love to hear from you.
